This week we are celebrating my roommate Mark Rogers. He is in the running for Teacher of the Year for the second year in a row, and Best Teacher in the US! He is spearheading new and innovating teaching methods like facilitating his lessons with rap videos that he uses to teach math. Hello everyone,

Today marks a glorious change in the Jalopy.  We will begin serving breakfast as well as staying open a little later.  We have too many of you people itching for sandwiches, that we feel obligated to give you a wider window to satiate your Jalopy fix for the week.  As of today are new hours will be:

Mon – Friday – 7AM – 10PM
Saturday – 10AM-10PM

We will be serving up a delicious Jalopy Miga Breakfast Taco in the morning for $2, as well as a few other crazy Jalopy creations.  Let us know what you think, and give us suggestions of what you want to see out of us.  Also, we might be thinking about doing some movie nights in the near future.  We’ll keep you posted.

Mardi Gras is over. It’s Ash Wednesday, and the only way to follow up a good repenting is a Jalopy Sandwich!

In memory of a fallen hero!  We are selling the Winston today. This goes out to the family at Paddington Media.

Fernando is one of our long lost Jalopy Food Truck goers.  He used to show up at least twice a week and just moved back to Miami.  So for his long time patronage, we decided to feature him on our website…it’s the least we could do.  He used to DJ throughout his early 20′s, used to have his tongue pierced, but never did his ears, his last name is Wild, and he thoroughly enjoys his Cuban food.  Fernando you are missed back in Austin.  We will making some mojo chicken sandwiches in your honor!

Because we are a 50 foot long metal truck…essentially a huge lighting rod, for the sake of security I will be leaving for the day…on the other hand I’m leaving Kendall in the Jalopy during the storm, just in case a few of you decide to brave the down pour.  He’ll be fine!
